Château de la Bûcherie is wholeheartedly committed to pleasing its guests by providing an inviting and rejuvenating atmosphere surrounded by nature, offering a warm welcome and attentive service. We promote a unique way of life, made up of a vast array of experiences and emotions. We are devoted to our guests’ well-being. Enjoying hospitality is our motto, and the French art de vivre is our guide. We go out of our way to satisfy our guests and help them reconnect with what’s important in life and create memorable holidays in the great outdoors. If our guests are happy, we’re happy. Above all, it’s about reconnecting with nature.
Sustainability & virtuous hospitality
Achieving sustainability is a long yet virtuous path. We continue to develop our initiatives, without ostentation, simply following the pace of a long-term conversion. In a château that has lived through the ages, imperfections are an asset rather than a hindrance. The charm of the estate lies in its quirky, spacious rooms and period features, which we have to take into account in our sustainable transition.
80% of our products are either made at the château or are produced locally and organically within a 50km radius.
Within the constraints that come with an age-old building, we have adopted a unique energy conservation plan, which includes encouraging sustainable transport, deciding not to install air-conditioning, and choosing an energy-efficient renovation.
We are committed to preserving water resources, both in our permaculture practices (rainwater recovery) and on a daily basis, preferring to use filtered local water rather than bottled water.
From recycling to systematic sorting and transforming organic matter into compost or feed for our hens, at La Bûcherie, waste treatment begins at the source!
We are committed to promoting responsible behaviour and consumption, both among staff and our guests, so that we can adopt sustainable practices together.
We have chosen not to mow certain woodland areas as part of our non-interventionist approach, in order to preserve biodiversity and promote the natural self-regulation of nature, fauna and flora.
We support a local solidarity economy thanks to our inclusion initiatives and our partnership with an association promoting mobility for disabled people.
